How can I advertise on LA Observed?

Instructions are at this link.

Are the ads endorsements?

No. An advertiser's presence on the site does not imply support for the product, service or idea being sold. Same for hyperlinks: LA Observed provides links to many websites and blogs that the editor doesn't read regularly, and may or may not endorse.

What about political ads?

Same thing. It's just business; no endorsement is intended or implied. LA Observed doesn't solicit political ads, but if a candidate or cause wants to reach this audience they are welcome. If one side's ad is accepted, all other sides' will be too.

Are ads subject to approval?

Yes. LA Observed only accepts ads that are in good taste and that fit the style of the site in the sole judgment of the publisher.

Do advertisers receive preferential treatment?

No. If an advertisier's first appearance on the site is newsworthy to the LA Observed audience, that may get mentioned — pro or con. Advertisers here should only place an ad if they want to reach the site's readers. Any advertiser expecting special treatment is bound to be disappointed.
