Missed it on Friday, but "Talk of the City" on KPCC had a program about WattStax, the "black Woodstock" that drew 100,000 people to the Los Angeles Coliseum in 1972. Performers included many stars of the Stax record label, including Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas and The Bar Kays. Jesse Jackson emceed. A film of the event by Mel Stuart is now showing in selected L.A. theaters. Real Audio of the program from KPCC.
