LAT bias memo analyzed in Globe

John Carroll's warning to the staff on liberal bias got another airing over the weekend in the Boston Globe. Cathy Young, who also writes for Reason, explores the spectrum of political slants and concludes that "In many ways, conservative and liberal critiques of media bias mirror each other. Both are skewed by the critics' often extreme ideologies. Both sides are also given to using media bias as a convenient excuse for the political failures of their camp." In Young's view, "the conservatives, for all the flaws and the hyperbole, make a stronger case," but she advises a strong dose of skepticism in general.
