Summer books of note in L.A.

CaliforniaAuthors.com lists upcoming books by novelists Walter Mosely and newcomer (to the mystery genre) Steven Bochco and journalists Joan Didion, Edward Humes, Miles Corwin, Mark Miller and Mark Arax. The prolific Lou Cannon also returns to the subject of Ronald Reagan in September with the biography Governor Reagan: His Rise to Power. Cannon's first book on Reagan (Ronnie & Jesse: A Political Odyssey) came out in 1969, says the copy on my shelf. At least two others followed.

Also new at the site: A Malibu diary by Veronique de Turenne, who lives in Paradise Cove.
