Weintraub's Bee blog takes off

Dan Weintraub, the former L.A. Times reporter who is now a state Capitol columnist for the Sacramento Bee, is posting a daily weblog of political observations for the Bee called the California Insider. He's closely following the twists and turns of the Davis recall, has doubts that Feinstein will stay out or that Davis will ever ponder quitting, and he corrects conservative columnist Robert Novak on what does happen if Davis bails. Weintraub posted a bunch this weekend and caught the eye of Mickey Kaus at Slate, which will put him in a Web spotlight for at least a while.
