Welcome to the MBSFVCSC

The Daily News editorial page gets off a good jab at the title given the new city office building in Van Nuys:

"Not since the days of the Soviet Empire has a public building been saddled with a name as drab, uninspiring and downright condescending as the official moniker Los Angeles officials have slapped on the newly restored Van Nuys City Hall:

The Marvin Braude San Fernando Valley Constituent Service Center.

Snore."

The paper thinks that the old name -- Valley City Hall -- did the job fine. The writer suggests a swap. The Valley will live with MBSFVCSC if downtown city hall is renamed the the James Hahn Los Angeles Insiders Self-Service Center.
