Couple of LAT vets leave

George Ramos, a reporter, editor and columnist at the L.A. Times for 25 years, is departing to become the chair of the journalism department at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. And Metro reporter Steve Berry, who won a Pulitzer Prize in investigative reporting while he was a reporter at the Orlando Sentinel in 1993, is headed to the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication as an associate professor.
