Recall Watch keeps a running tally of cash flow into the various committees pro and con on the recall, and links to news stories. It should link to more, today's round-up is thin -- see Rough and Tumble every day for more stories. Recall Watch is by a Sacramento education lobbyist -- unidentified -- who says the site is neutral. Meanwhile, Daniel Weintraub's op-ed column in the Sacramento Bee gives Richard Riordan some advice on how not to screw it up should he decide to run: "Riordan ran last year as the candidate of leadership and vision while offering little of either." Also today John Fund in the Wall Street Journal's Opinion Journal weighs in from the right on what the Democrats are thinking.

Democrats are slowly coming to the conclusion that Gov. Davis is a goner, but like the Republicans they are having trouble agreeing on a consensus alternative. Unless Sen. Feinstein runs, chances are that if one Democrat breaks ranks and files for the race, several more will follow.

Update Saturday, Aug. 2: Recall Watch doesn't look so good after all. The site hasn't been updated since this was posted.
