A few more worthy L.A. based blogs have come to my attention: The Juxtaposition is by two young guys in the South Bay, writing about freeways and other aspects of life in greater L.A. They have the seal of approval from blogger Oliver Willis.... In the Hat covers crime and gangs in L.A. with an emphasis on the Mexican Mafia, and some criticism of the L.A. Times. The blogger says in email he is writing a book on the MexMafia under a pseudonym.... Elizabeth Stromme is L.A.'s Underground Gardener.... Also see sTaRe and SeanAlonzo.com, site of the occult fiction author of the same name.

Around town: Tiffany Stone is up on Movie City News with another fun tale of the adventures of two babes loose in the city. Truth or apocrypha? You be the judge.... David Rensin announces to his readers at Tell Me Everything that he has been tapped to write an authorized biography of legendary surfer Miki Dora.... Xeni Jardin links to her newest piece for Wired on the new cable network devoted to reality TV.... At the Goddess Blog, Amy Alkon is keeping the pressure on SUVs and telemarketers, and in her latest column advises a 25-year-old woman to get over her anger toward the mother who paddled her when she was 10.
