Variety goes the blog route

The Hollywood trade paper has started a couple of blogs -- but you have to be a subscriber to Variety.com to read them. This is from the blurb on the intro screen:

Who writes blogs for you?
Jim Hames writes Outside the Box, about promotional items sent to Variety.
Rob Kendt writes Wicked Little Town, about acting news and happenings in Los Angeles.
Other writers will be announced in the near future.

Will you create more Weblogs? Are you looking for bloggers?
Yes and yes. If you're interested, contact Travis Smith, tfsmith@reedbusiness.com. Weblogs of interest to the entertainment community will be considered.
The Variety site offers free trials.
