March 2 at 4:30 p.m. Several USC associations host Annenberg School professor Ed Cray to talk about his new book, Ramblin’ Man: The Life and Times of Woody Guthrie, in the campus Doheny Library. Info.

March 2 at 2:30 p.m. Frances Anderton's "DnA: Design and Architecture" on KCRW (89.9 FM) looks at redesigning Art Center in Pasadena.

March 3 L.A. Press Club holds a panel talk on covering celebrity trials at its offices, 6464 Sunset Blvd., 8th floor. On the panel will be Linda Deutsch of AP, O.J. Simpson prosecutor Chris Darden, Judge Charles G. Rubin and Harvey Levin of "Celebrity Justice." Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Info.

March 3 LAT film critic Kenneth Turan will join a USC panel to discuss the controversy around The Passion of the Christ. Benedict Fitzgerald, co-screenwriter of the film, also will appear. The discussion is co-sponsored by the USC School of Religion, Office of Religious Life, Center for Religion and Civic Culture and School of Cinema-Television. March 3 Jazz impresario George Wein, whose book Myself Among Others: A Life in Music is about to come out in paperback, speaks at the downtown Central Library at 7 p.m. Info.

March 6 The Historical Society of Southern California presents its annual History Conference at the Autry Museum. The keynote address, "Lost in L.A.: Neighborhood Remnants of Architecture, Politics, and Daily Life” will be by UCLA professor of architecture and urban design Dana Cuff. Info.

March 9 Columnist Jill Stewart, The Advocate news editor Chad Graham and L.A. city council candidate Bill Rosendahl will participate in a panel discussion on the media and the 2004 elections hosted by the L.A. chapter of the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association. 7:30 p.m. at the The Village Renberg Theatre in Hollywood. March 13 Center for Creative Voices in Media holds a conference, "Can Media Artists Survive Media Consolidation?” at the WGA Theater in Beverly Hills. 9 a.m. to noon. FCC commissioner Jonathan S. Adelstein gives keynote speech. Info.

March 16 USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Fellowship program presents a panel on the arts, social justice, religion and journalism to discuss global policies and attitudes affecting refugees and immigrants.
