Shriver does the right thing

Maria Shriver resigned today from NBC News, ending an awkward moment for the network and the governor.

[Actually, they're calling it an "extended leave of absence." Shriver also is free to do documentaries and projects for NBC and its cable channels. The network gets the right of refusal on anything she produces, the LAT reports Wednesday.]
