The California Studies Association, based at Berkeley, is having its annual conference in L.A. at Loyola Marymount on April 21-23. The keynote luncheon speaker is author Gregory Rodriguez, and entertainment at the first night's reception is by Dave Alvin and the Blasters (* no Blasters--I'm told the conference program is incorrect).
