* Lots of Press Club finalists

The L.A. Press Club, which is putting on a panel discussion on journalism schools tonight, has posted the finalists for awards to be given out at its annual dinner on June 12. Looks like the LAT's John Daniszewski has one award sewn up.

Full list of categories and finalists is here. Awards have already been announced for KCAL anchor Pat Harvey, CNN political analyst Jeff Greenfield, Time magazine correspondent Michael Weisskopf and photographer James Nachtwey. There will also be a special tribute to the late Frank Del Olmo.

* Freudian slip?: The finalist from KCRW is Warren Olney, not Will Lewis. The latter is the KCRW consultant who tweaked the Press Club a few weeks back for calling Sandra Tsing Loh's removal a First Amendment outrage (Lewis went to jail defending KPFK in a First Amendment issue in the '70s). The Press Club staff must have had Lewis on the mind when they put together the list of finalists...
