Another NY Post howler

A few weeks ago there was the banner headline — allegedly called in by Rupert Murdoch — screaming that Kerry had chosen Richard Gephardt to be his veep. Then over the weekend, the Post's Page Six gossip page reported that Brandon Tartikoff and his wife were seen dining at Mr. Chow with NBC boss Bob Wright. Tartikoff of course died, rather famously, in 1997. Today's Page Six regrets the error. As Romenesko notes, rival gossip Lloyd Grove quips in the New York Daily News: "No word on whether Vice President Gephardt was at the next table." It brings a little perspective to Kate Sullivan's complaint that Page Six picked up her blog item this weekend without even a cursory check of the facts.
