Orlov day at City Hall

By some reckoning, Rick Orlov of the Daily News is the dean of L.A. City Hall reporters. He's been there a long time, knows a lot, and is respected. Add this to the Orlov file: if I'm counting this right (based on the Daily News website), he has five bylined stories in today's paper. He's got the Valley Industry and Commerce Association, an influential group at City Hall, moving its Dec. 9 meeting so that Mayor Jim Hahn won't have to cross a picket line to attend. Then there's sewer bills going up, council members approving plans to televise meetings of the bigger city commissions, lower rates for customers of Adelphia cable, and an update on discussions about how to replace Ron Deaton as chief legislative analyst. In his free time, Orlov also co-bylined on a story about the Children's Museum of Los Angeles moving to Hansen Dam in the Valley.
