Seipp vs. CityBeat *

Who didn't see this divorce coming? The left-leaning weekly apparently cut conservative columnist Cathy Seipp's freelance rate and asked that her local media pieces stop being rewrites of her blog. That devolved into a disagreement over past monies due or not due, threats of small claims court, and finally a parting of the ways. She gives her side on her blog, and also reveals that CityBeat "cut its editorial budget drastically over the summer."

* Cathy emails: CityBeat didn't care that some of her columns began with blog items, but the editors didn't like that they would show up first on National Review Online.
