Dan Gillmor leaves Mercury

Upstate in San Jose, the Mercury's longtime technology writer, Dan Gillmor, is leaving the paper to start up a "citizen journalism" venture. Here's the Mercury's announcement and Gillmor's short-on-details blog post. He recently wrote "We the Media: Grassroots Journalism by the People, for the People and is an evangelist for the power of new forms of media.
