Artifacts from Tutankhamen's reign are returning to LACMA for the first time since drawing big crowds in the 1970s—but it could cost you $30 to see King Tut's stuff. King TutPrices for the show that opens June 15 are set by AEG, the people who charge $10-plus for a beer and hot dog at Staples Center. Museum director Andrea Rich confirmed for the Times that admission will begin at $15 and go for double that if an adult wants to attend on a weekend. But Tim Leiweke, the top Anschutz man in L.A., has no fear of meeting "price resistance."

"It's a very inexpensive ticket compared to a concert or a sporting event," he said.

Anschutz Entertainment Group is backing the tour along with Arts and Exhibitions International in an arrangement the story calls the wave of the future for cash-strapped museums.

* That was fast: Ticketmaster came out Wednesday with a VIP package of two tickets plus a DVD for $100. They're going with the 'Tutankhamun' spelling.
