Truman out at Conde Nast **

TextIn one of those magazine shakeups that is "effective immediately," James Truman is giving way after 11 years as Editorial Director of Conde Nast to Thomas J. Wallace, currently editor-in-chief of Conde Nast Traveler. In the memo posted at Romenesko, Truman says he is headed back to Europe (he's from England): "I felt this was a good time for me to make a change." The Conde Nast magazine empire includes The New Yorker, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Glamour, Self, GQ, Vanity Fair, Gourmet, Bon Appétit and Wired.

* Also: TV Guide is launching a new weekly magaizne to be called Inside TV, with celebrity features aimed at young women. Steve LeGrice, formerly editor of the Star tabolid and In Touch Weekly, will run it. (LABJ)

** Entirely voluntary: David Carr reports in the New York Times that Truman decided to go live in Spain for awhile.
