Some local blogs were honored with 2005 Bloggy Awards announced this afternoon at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin. Boing Boing won for weblog of the year and best group blog. Defamer picked up awards for best new blog and best entertainment blog. The Bloggy for "best article or essay about weblogs" went to an entry called How to Blog by Tony Pierce. Meanwhile, blog readers also voted a tip of the cap for best web application to Movable Type.
