We interrupt this blog-free day to pass along the news that Katrina Dewey is leaving as editor of the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Martin Berg, the legal paper's San Francisco editor, is coming south to take her place. Dewey's announcement:

Dear Staff, I've had the best job in the world for the past 8 1/2 years, getting to work with each of you. And while I love the Daily Journal, its staff and readers as much as I ever did, it's time for me to move on. So around the beginning of July, I'm going to head off to start something new. And Marty Berg will be moving back to Los Angeles as your new editor. Those of you who know him know he's a first-rate journalist and human being who's only going to make this paper better. I hope you'll all join me in congratulating him on this well-deserved move. These changes will necessarily entail others, but that's often a good thing.

Thanks for everything you've all taught me and coming here and giving your best for our readers and paper each day. You've all touched me and taught me and I'm grateful for every minute.

Katrina
