L.A. is no Spamalot

Shouldn't it really be spelled Spamelot? Anyway, the Monty Python-inspired Broadway hit won't be coming to Los Angeles. The producers struck a deal to house the touring version of the musical in Las Vegas at a new theater that hotel mogul Steve Wynn will open in 2007. As part of the deal, the show is forbidden from touring in California. Don Shirley has details in the LAT. Spamalot, winner of a Tony for Best Musical, is based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, itself very loosely a spoof of the Camelot story.
