I'm told that the Writers Guild of America, West board tonight rescinded its decision to give the group's prestigious Valentine Davies Award to defrocked ex-prez Victoria Riskin. She resigned as WGA president last year after it was reported that she wasn't actually an active Guild member. Her departure led to the elevation of Charles Holland, who himself resigned after being discovered fudging his resume. Anyway, when the WGA board voted earlier this month to honor Riskin, it sparked an outcry from members, especially on the WriterAction.com bulletin board. Here's the Variety story from two weeks ago, and some background at the blog of WGA member Lee Goldberg.
