Unsubtle signals

Bonnie FullerSounds like there are a ton of insider references in Hollywood Hussein, the new novel by Ken Baker, West Coast editor for Us Weekly. Monday's Page Six says that the book's Tom Peppers character, a "cocky, arrogant and, um, sexual" guy who loves Paris Hilton, is based on journalist Todd Gold. Former Us Weekly editor Bonnie Fuller is barely disguised as a ball-busting character named Bobby Lesser who edits a mag called Them! Weekly. Baker's previous books include Man Made: A Memoir of My Body, his memoir of surviving a brain tumor that went undiagnosed for twelve years and flooded his body with female hormones (Sony bought the film rights), and They Don't Play Hockey in Heaven: A Dream, a Team and My Comeback Season, about his stint as a rookie goalie for the Bakersfield Condors ice hockey team.
