Expect some traffic disruptions downtown this morning around the funeral of former Rep. Edward Roybal. Services begin at 8:45 am Monday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, followed by a procession east on Temple Street, south on Spring past City Hall, east on First Street, south on Central Avenue to 4th Street then over the 3rd Street bridge. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery after a stop for blessing with holy water at Our Lady of the Rosary of Talpa at 2914 East 4th Street. Spring and Broadway will be closed in both directions between Temple and First when the procession begins about 11 am, according to Mayor Villaraigosa's office. Other streets will close as needed.
