The family that gossips together

Wife-and-husband team Elizabeth Snead and Joel Stratte-McClure used to jointly byline their celebrity gossip dispatches for the Daily News and the other LANG papers. Then Snead started dispatching her side of the party reports to the Times, which made her handlers in Woodland Hills less than happy. There was a parting of the ways, but for the couple it has apparently worked out pretty well. They still cover the same nightlife, such as last week's Writers Bloc exchange between Maureen Dowd of the New York Times and The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin. But they get double paychecks, Snead for her account at LATimes.com's The Envelope and Stratte-McClure for his version in the Daily News. Some overlap, but some differences too.
