QM2 coming to town

QM2The new Queen Mary 2 will arrive for its first visit at the Port of Los Angeles on February 22. But it won't be easy. The world's largest cruise ship is too tall to pass under the Vincent Thomas Bridge and, at 1132 feet, too long to turn around inside the harbor, the Daily Breeze reports. So the Cunard ship will reverse up the main channel at San Pedro to pick up passengers for short voyages to Mexico and Hawaii. Ceremonies of some sort are being planned. The QM2 is scheduled to leave the L.A area for New York on March 8.
