Swim anyone? *

Playboy grottoWhile I'm playing around with Microsoft's Windows Live Local pics (and burning up bandwidth), just for yucks here's the pool grotto of the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills (or as historians know it, the Arthur Letts estate.) Bigger view of the pools, lawn and house after the jump.

Friendly reminder: Please, don't link directly to photos. It steals server resources and is considered rude. Copy photos to your own server before posting on your website. Hot linkers can expect to find the LA Observed logo (or a grossly raunchy image, for repeat offenders) displayed prominently on their site when they least expect it.

* While we're in the neighborhood: Aaron Spelling's mega-mansion, built on the site of Bing Crosby's former home beside Holmby Hills Park. I note in Wilshire Boulevard that a neighbor dubbed it "look-at-me-I'm-rich architecture." In the navigation area on the upper left, click on the larger building icon to zoom in. Also, here's a good starting point to explore the adjoining Los Angeles Country Club, which was there before Wilshire Boulevard had pavement. The golf course is challenging enough to host a PGA tournament, but the club doesn't want to open the exclusive grounds to all the prying eyes. If you have been inside, count yourself fortunate. 1:35 pm
