Margolin went from Columbia to Harvard and graduated in 2002. She is the daughter of Bruce Margolin, Los Angeles director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws for three decades as well as an attorney and a candidate for governor in the 2003 recall. Allison ran herself for city council in Beverly Hills this year and lost.
