The original Lamplighter Restaurant on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood closes for good tonight. It's making way for a massive redevelopment project by J.H. Snyder that will transform the Valley Plaza and Laurel Plaza shopping centers. Spin-off Lamplighters in Chatsworth and Sherman Oaks will live on; the owners also run Pattie's in Toluca Lake [He probably means Paty's, several emailers point out.] Gregory J. Wilcox has the story in the Daily News.
