HortonFormer Channel 5 pilot/traffic reporter Desiree Horton lives in Chatsworth and has a blog: The Adventures of Chopper Chick! She posts about flying on traffic reports and car chases for Fox, KABC and Channel 2, and on Dec. 30 posted the rumor that her old job at KTLA would be filled by Chuck Street, the pilot for KIIS/fm [it was]: "Very well suited for the job more so than I. He is funny and quick witted which is what KTLA is looking for."

San Diego blogger Gary Sassaman (Innocent Bystander) posted an email exchange with Horton recently about her career and her passion for aerial firefighting. This week she is blogging about fire duty in Texas and being mistaken for a Hooters girl instead of a pilot.

"i took it as a compliment. yeah! i guess i look like a hooters chick! so now i'm trying to find a hooters shirt to show on up the fire with the next day. unfortunately, no hooters in abilene! anyone got a hooters shirt they can send me to my hotel????

Her follow-up post reads: "If you are serious about sending one I think I would wear a large if it's a girls shirt and it's fitted! Do they have ones with short sleeves? Not allowed to wear tank tops, although it's so cold I would probably just unzip my flight suit enough to show the owl and not worry about showing too much skin anyway! LOL I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express 1802 East Interstate Highway 20, Alilene, TX 76901."
