Rhino Records shuttered

RhinoThe rumors about the Rhino record store on Westwood Boulevard closing are apparently true. Reader T.J. emailed that he went by today and the marquee said that they lost the lease and hope to reopen elsewhere soon. Nothing yet on the website. Rhino had moved to 2028 Westwood Boulevard about five years ago, from its longtime location up the street.

Also, the Barnes and Noble store in the sad outpost of Westside Pavilion that is across Westwood Boulevard from the center of the action will close this month. They're in clearance sale mode now. That side of the mall is scheduled for redevelopment with a bunch of new movie screens.
