Ohhh, now I think I know why the county Department of Health Services suddenly switched gears and yesterday released the name of the popular Olvera Street restaurant where fifteen diners caught hepatitis A. Tonight on the 11 pm news, Channel 4's Joel Grover—who makes a specialty of reporting on dirty restaurants—has a report airing on the outbreak. "We uncovered a group of victims -- people infected with the Hepatitis A disease but didn't know it," Grover says on the website's promo. "We confronted the health department. Why don't they let the public know about outbreaks?" Last month Fox 11 apparently first aired the name of La Golondrina and Silver Grill Catering of North Hollywood. (* And Channel 2 named La Golondrina last night on the 11 o'clock news, I'm told.)
