Ludlow chooses resignation *

After taking the weekend to ponder his future, County Fed executive secretary-treasurer Martin Ludlow quit today and says he is cooperating with the federal investigation into violations of campaign laws during his successful run for City Council in 2003. The Fed will meet Thursday to consider replacements. Names mentioned include Sergio Rascon of Laborers Local 300, state Sen. Gilbert Cedillo, union president Maria Elena Durazo (wife of the late County Fed chief Miguel Contreras) and Kent Wong, director of the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education. Link is to the LAT and I also got some info from the City News Service report.
