LAT loses Washington editor

Deb Nelson, who has led the resurgence in investigative reporting by the Washington Bureau of the Los Angeles Times, is leaving for a job in academia at the University of Maryland. Romenesko has the press release and the staff memo from bureau chief Doyle McManus bemoaning her loss.
