♦ The 2004 law designed to keep Ron Burkle's divorce details private was thrown out by the California Supreme Court, which denied review without comment.

♦ Variety's Brian Lowry takes a free swipe at a certain LAT op-edist in today's column, critiquing his own writing with the line, "Wow, there were so many "I's" in that paragraph, self-obsessed columnist Joel Stein could have written it."
♦ Bon Appétit editors have launched a blog and podcasts, and since most of them are here on Wilshire Boulevard expect a bunch of Los Angeles items eventually.
♦ More upheaval in the film critic ranks, about which Anne Thompson blogs at the Hollywood Reporter: "There are a lot of excellent critics over 40 without a berth right now—as one outfit after another hires the younger, hipper, cheaper alternative, hoping to appeal to the all-too-sexy younger demographic."
♦ "Access Hollywood" dropped a big spoiler on fans of "The O.C." and Gawker isn't happy about it.
♦ Three-fourths of CNN's prime audience is older than 50 with a median age of 65—and that's still younger than the audience for Fox News.
