Richest Angelenos

KerkorianThe Los Angeles Business Journal is out with its annual guess of who is worth what, promoting Kirk Kerkorian ($9.3 billion) to the top spot over last year's champion, Sumner Redstone ($7.4 billion.) Three new names make the top 50—#36 Ming Hsieh, founder and CEO of Cogent Systems Inc., and Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt at #46. David Geffen, Steven Spielberg, Mel Gibson and Jeffrey Katzenberg stay on the list, but Michael Eisner slips off. The usual caveats apply, plus they use the term Angeleno loosely: six of the top ten live in Beverly Hills or Malibu.
