Updated with 100% returns

Don't believe the analyses you find in the morning papers. They were all written on spec last night before the results were known. Today's radio shows, TV news and blogs—and tomorrow's papers—should be full of wisdom, however.

Democratic nominee Phil Angelides will appear at the Sheraton Universal East Ballroom at 11 am, after starting the day in Sacramento. Alex Padilla won his state Senate nomination, overcoming Mayor Villaraigosa's opposition and setting up a race for the City Council opening. (Assemblywoman Cindy Montañez announced this morning she would be a candidate, and the betting is that Padilla's chief of staff, Felipe Fuentes, would be too.) Kevin De Leon won in the 45th with the help of his friend Speaker Fabian Núñez, and Jackie Goldberg's clout could only get her chosen successor to third place. Mike Feuer, Jenny Oropeza, Lyn Shaw and Julia Brownley are also winners, and it appears that Ron Calderon is too—but man, it's close.

Election Night Notebook: County Supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky and Gloria Molina and Sheriff Lee Baca were reelected without a fight...More than 25 photogs and reporters rushed for the Bonaventure elevators when Westly aides announced he would do photo ops in suite 3138. In one tightly packed elevator car, the joke was that if it went down ABC-7's John North would lead the obituaries...Upstairs in the 31st floor hallway, TV crews angled for priority entrance to the suite. When NBC-4's Patrick Healy joined the line for stations with 10 pm airtimes (KNBC's news doesn't air until 11), North quipped that KABC just added a 10 o'clock too. (It hadn't)...Inside, all the cameras caught were Westly and his wife perched uncomfortably on a sofa pretending to study a Dell laptop screen...Downstairs in the ballroom later, Westly seemed flummoxed by the names of the local officials on stage with him. He had to be prompted to get Bernard Parks right, introduced Nate Holden as a city councilman, and overlooked Wendy Greuel altogether...City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo seemed to be at ease all night, despite losing big in the AG race. "He still has his job, he'll be fine," said a Villaraigosa camp loyalist...Rob Reiner hung around in the Yes on 82 ballroom long after conceding, chatting with supporters...Slate blogger Mickey Kaus checked on the Westly party, as did columnist Jill Stewart and CityBeat's Dean Kuipers...Turnout in the county was 24.6%...You can now get state results on your PDA.
