LAX lines 'gone forever'?

LAX lineThe TSA's security director at Los Angeles International Airport told city officials that the long waits in line outside terminals 1 and 4 are a thing of the past. Under six minutes is now the average wait to go through security at LAX, says Larry Fetters. That doesn't count the lines for check-in and luggage—LAX checks more bags than any other U.S. airport—but there is a plan afoot for handling baggage at remote parking lots before passengers board shuttles to the terminals.

Councilman Jack Weiss isn't buying the story about shorter lines. "It's kind of like Dewey beats Truman -- it's not true," he told the Times' Jennifer Oldham.
