Transit night owls

LogoMembers of Southern California Transit Advocates like to challenge themselves — and explore the region — by taking long group excursions on public transit. They have gone as far as Laguna Beach and San Diego, and tonight plan to see what the MTA system has to offer late-night travelers. Their starting point is the Subway sandwich shop in Westwood Village (just north of Wilshire) at 10 pm. They plan to check out MTA bus line 622, which begins running at 12:23 am along the Green Line route between El Segundo and Norwalk. An organizer emails:

The 622 especially intrigues because we aren't quite sure why it exists and want to witness how much ridership it gets.

They will also take an early morning run of the Orange Line across the Valley. Man, these people cover a lot of ground.
