Fairfax 3, R.I.P.

PigskinsLaemmle Theatres has pulled out of the Fairfax 3 discount house at 7907 Beverly Boulevard. No word on what the future holds for the site, just off the corner at Fairfax. The original single-screen Fairfax shows up in a 1934 Three Stooges short, Three Little Pigskins, visible over the rim of Gilmore Stadium, which used to stand where CBS Television City is now. The short is notable in Hollywood lore because a young Lucille Ball plays a gun moll opposite Moe, Larry and Curly.
