Lube job

LogoNBC 4's Joel Grover looks to have another installment of his Jiffy Lube expose coming tonight at 6 and 11 pm, according to the station's website. After Grover's two-part investigation, "Is Your Mechanic Cheating?," earlier this year, several Jiffy Lube stores closed temporarily for "employee retraining," 31 stores added video cameras and six employees were let go.

Good Day L.A.TV note: News is anything that happens to or near an editor or TV anchor. This morning on Fox 11's "Good Day L.A." (video on the website), newly goateed Steve Edwards, who lives in the south end of the Valley, asked CHP commissioner Mike Brown how much longer the work will take to modernize the interchange of the Ventura and San Diego freeways. Brown — who told Edwards he likes the new facial growth — didn't have much light to shine, except to say that it's a "long-term project" for Caltrans with years to go. Co-host Dorothy Lucey got in a little dig, saying that if Edwards gets to ask about his neighborhood, she can ask about where the traffic cops hide on Pacific Coast Highway. (He shot back that only twelve viewers care about her question.) Jillian Barberie, meanwhile, wanted to know why she got a ticket for having tinted windows and complained that she needs the privacy since fans pay her too much attention on the road. She had a small dog with her on the set.
