Everybody's known for something
Danny Flores, who died at 77, was the Champs band member who wrote and growled "Tequila" in the 1950s instrumental tune of the same name. Does her comment sound a little double-edged: "I can honestly tell you he never got tired of playing that song," said his wife, Sharee.

The LA Weekly's copy editors have a blog that gently satirizes the paper's own Style Council blog. And it has been around since April.

Developers got the endorsement of the Venice Neighborhood Council for a 57-room boutique hotel on the site of the former Charles and Ray Eames design warehouse on Abbot Kinney. It would be called Ray. Story is in the LABJ.
