New blood at LACMA

Michael Crichton is joining the board of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, along with Yahoo chairman and CEO Terry Semel and philanthropist and tech entrepreneur David Bohnett. Crichton, the author and filmmaker, was listed among the top 200 art collectors in ARTnews and previously served on the Harvard board of overseers. Bohnett, the founder of GeoCities, is chair of the David Bohnett Foundation and serves on the board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. He helped restore the historic neon roof sign on the old Broadway store in Hollywood and his home in Holmby Hills is noted for the Baroda Wall sculpture by Brad Howe.
