Again with the Roy Orbison footage

OrbisonLast night's showing of "Roy Orbison and Friends" on KCET — the concert was recorded live at the Cocoanut Grove in 1988 — prompted this anguished email from an LA Observed reader who shall remain nameless:

Jesus, does KCET have to run that Roy Orbison program EVERY THREE MONTHS?!

He was an awesome dude, and it's a wonderful program--but, Christ!--EVERY pledge drive?! (Have you noticed--no lie--how they're every three months now?)

Maybe you could implore L.A. to stop watching (and pledging during) that program--and KCET would be forced to beat some other program to death!

Thanks for letting me vent.

He's not the only one who was thinking it.
