Bad day on the freeways

Item: A big rig rig on the northbound I-5 struck and killed a pedestrian this afternoon near Zoo Drive in the Griffith Park area. Two lanes are blocked.

Item: A gasoline tanker crashed about 8 am on the westbound 134 in Burbank, closing all lanes for a couple of hours. The freeway didn't re-open entirely until 2:30.

Item: Three crashes including a rollover snarled traffic this morning on the eastbound 105 in Hawthorne.

In other news: Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills Estates was evacuated after an inert grenade was found along with a note claiming there were other grenades on campus. Students were moved to another school.
