Birdman of L.A. *

creditWill Campbell at Metroblogging interviews the artist who claims to be responsible for the doves found hanging from wires over many Los Angeles streets. They started appearing in Venice and also show up in Santa Barbara and San Francisco. Next week he plans to hit New York.

Q: What was your goal?
A: My whole thing is -- and I don't know if it sounds selfish -- it was really about me just having fun.

* Noted: CityBeat's Jade Werner spoke with the dove guy last month.

Also at Blogging.la: Orcas were spotted feeding in the bay last night. Blue whales have also been seen recently in the channel, and the first Grays have been counted drifting south towards the Baja lagoons.
