creditLocal bloggers and web entrepreneurs placed well on the Forbes Web Celeb 25, called "the biggest, brightest and most influential people on the Internet [and]...famous primarily for creating or appearing in Internet-based content, and for being highly recognizable to a Web-based audience." It's a waffly definition that ranks an actress who performed a paying role and is mostly forgotten, Jessica Lee Rose (Bree in the LonelyGirl15 videos), the #1 most influential web celebrity and relegates the co-founder and president of MySpace to the near-miss list. Congrats anyway to gossip blogger Perez Hilton, #2 on the list; temporary Angeleno Cory Doctorow #15, media omnipresence Xeni Jardin #16, political blogger Charles Johnson #20, journalist Kevin Sites #21, Defamer's Mark Lisanti #22, and web lottery winner Jason Calacanis #23. David Markland over at Blogging.la constructs his L.A. list a bit differently.
