Arthur calls it quits *
Jay Babcock, the founder of music and culture zine Arthur, emails a friend that the run has ended at #25 (cover shown.) He posts a symbolic gesture on the website.
We're done. No Arthur 26, no Arthur future. Done. There is nothing more I can do. Now I'm broke and in debt. Thanks for all of your support....all best, Jay
* Backstory: Difference of opinion between Babcock and his East Coast partner, covered by Kevin Bronson in the LAT. Arthur started out with some substantial contributors (not financial backers): "Laris & I started Arthur with our own money and credit cards, and it stayed that way til the end," Babcock emails.
